Impact Wrestling will be losing two important names, PWInsider confirmed today.
Impact Wrestling Hall Of Famer Abyss and Sonjay Dutt are leaving the company and the belief, according to multiple sources, is that they are on their way to WWE and will be starting with the company shortly. The roster was made aware of their departures in a company email.
Both of them were considered a great asset to the company in their backstage roles and their departures are said to be amicable with the company not wanting to hold them back from opportunities offered to them.
Abyss is among the last performers that started out with the company in 2002. He had an offer from WWE in 2006 but declined to sign with them at that time and Dutt was invited as a guest coach at the Performance Center in 2017 but ultimately decided to stick with Impact because he didn’t want to uproot his family. He has been working on the creative side for Impact and he’s worn many hats with them over the years.
As a result of these changes, Konnan and Tommy Dreamer are now working on the Impact creative team.
