The Nevada State Athletic Commission has reached a settlement agreement with Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor that will see them suspended and fined for their role in the UFC 229 post-fight brawl.
McGregor received six months suspension for his role in the brawl, which means he could fight again as soon as April 6. McGregor also needs to pay a $50,000 fine. McGregor recently stated that he would like to fight Donald Cerrone, a fight that Cerrone has wanted for years.
Nurmagomedov was suspended for nine-months with a $500,000 fine for his involvement in the brawl.
The suspension is retroactive to October 6, 2018 so that means that Nurmagomedov will be eligible to fight again on April 6, 2019, if the suspension is reduced because it can be reduced up to three months pending his participation in an anti-bullying public service announcement that is approved by the NAC. He would be eligible to fight again in the fall if the suspension is not reduced.
Nurmagomedov’s cornermen at UFC 229, Abubakar Nurmagomedov and Zubaira Tukhugov, each were handed one-year suspensions for their role in the brawl.
