WWE Hall of Famer Edge and former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Christian welcomed former WWE Universal Champion Finn Balor onto their Pod Of Awesomeness podcast where they spoke about a wide range of topics.
“The Rated-R Superstar” brought up during this interview that Balor and Jeff Hardy have similar connections to the audience that watches them perform on a weekly bases on WWE television whether that be on Monday Night Raw or SmackDown Live.
Edge believes just like with Balor; Hardy had a connection with the fans despite the company not pulling the trigger on him right away regarding creative.
“We’ve talked about how you have a connection with the audience and sometimes it’s just easier to make a comparison, and I’ve always kind of compared it to Jeff [Hardy], and for years, Jeff had that kind of connection with the audience but the trigger never fully got pulled on him and, eventually it did, and the first time he won the title, he pinned me after crushing me with a Swanton, and that’s the closest comparison.” Edge said. “I think you distinctly have your own thing going on, but that’s the closest comparison I can think of in terms of crowd reaction wise.”
