Goldberg returned to the ring against Dolph Ziggler at WWE SummerSlam. This was the second match on the main card. The story heading into this match was that Ziggler thought that he was going to face Miz but a switch was pulled and the contract was for a match between Ziggler and Goldberg. Ziggler has been ripping on Goldberg during his promos in recent weeks.
Before the match, Ziggler cut a promo and said Goldberg fears him. He called himself the best thing to happen to pro wrestling and dared anyone who has the guts to show up because Goldberg doesn’t show up for matches. That is when Goldberg’s music played and he made his entrance.
Ziggler surprised Goldberg with a superkick out of nowhere and followed up with a second one but Goldberg kicked out of the pin attempt. Ziggler went for another one but Goldberg caught him with a spear and the jackhammer. Goldberg won.
After the match, Ziggler said Goldberg doesn’t have the guts to fight him man to man. Goldberg walked back to the ring and speared Goldberg again.
Goldberg left to the back but Ziggler grabbed the mic again and said anyone can get lucky twice and he knew that Goldberg didn’t have the balls to face him man to man. He called Goldberg a laughingstock in the business. Goldberg’s music played again and he walked back to the ring and speared him again.
