Kevin Owens put his career on the line at WWE SummerSlam in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The stipulation was that Owens would quit if he lost to McMahon. Last week, Owens asked McMahon to quit if he lost but McMahon declined to add that stipulation. Before the match got started, McMahon announced that Elias would be the guest enforcer.
Elias interfered several times to keep the referee from counting when McMahon was about to get pinned. Owens almost used a chair but he decided against it to avoid losing and having to leave WWE.
Late in the match, McMahon accidentally running into Elias, Owens caught McMahon with a superkick and then he followed up with the senton splash and a frog splash but Elias pulled the referee out of the ring. Owens dove onto Elias but ended up hitting the main referee. While the ref was knocked out, Owens went to use the chair but he had to fight off Elias at ringside.
Owens went to use the chair on McMahon but the referee stopped him. Owens then hit a low blow on McMahon while the ref was not looking and then he hit the stunner. Owens won.
