TNT President: “All Elite Wrestling is going to be a sleeper”

Kevin Reilly, WarnerMedia direct-to-consumer chief content officer and TBS/TNT/TruTV president, is very high on All Elite Wrestling.

Reilly did a brief interview with Variety in which he answered a few questions including which show will be the network’s next sleeper hit. This is when he named AEW’s weekly television show.

“All Elite Wrestling (AEW)” is going to be a sleeper. It’s very counter-intuitive to launch a new league at the height of the WWE. But I have a lot of reasons why it makes sense where the opportunity is. We’re not taking down the WWE but I think this is going to be surprising.”

The first AEW on TNT show will take place at the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC on October 2nd. The show has sold out.

Announced for the show will include the crowning of the first AEW Women’s Champion, Jon Moxley appearing, Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks vs. Chris Jericho & two mystery opponents, and Cody Rhodes vs. Sammy Sammy Guevara.
