As many have suspected, you can expect some changes when NXT moves to the USA Network in a couple of weeks.
Although people in WWE have said that the show will remain unchanged, there are people worried about Vince McMahon getting involved especially if they draw fewer viewers than AEW on TNT.
Dave Meltzer noted in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that they are looking at adding to the NXT writing staff. Raw and SmackDown Live has a large writing staff but NXT is run by a small crew. A writing staff on NXT could be the beginning of the brand morphing into something similar to Raw and SmackDown Live. Hopefully, that is not what ends up happening in the long run.
It will be interesting to see how NXT compares to AEW because AEW is not hiring writers for their show. In fact, Chris Jericho noted a few weeks ago that his promo at Fight For The Fallen was the first time in 20 years that he was able to give a completely unscripted promo. He had bullet points to cover but everything he said was off the top of his head. That apparently will not be the case for the wrestlers in NXT.
