Corey Graves addresses fans who say he took a cheap shot at Chris Jericho

Corey Graves has addressed the speculation that he took a shot at Chris Jericho over having his AEW World Heavyweight Title belt stolen during the latest episode of SmackDown Live.

The news broke on Tuesday afternoon that Jericho has reported to local police that his title belt has been stolen. The title went missing while he was eating dinner inside a Longhorn Steakhouse. When the limo driver picked him up from the restaurant, which is when it was realized that the belt was missing.

Graves made a subtle reference to Jericho’s AEW Title being stolen when Drake Maverick won the 24/7 Title on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live in Norfolk, Virginia at the Norfolk Scope Arena.

Graves stated, “I’m sure he’ll celebrate and take a limousine to a chain restaurant.” Hours after the show, Graves clarified on Twitter that it wasn’t a shot at Jericho. He wrote the following:

“Dear Internet, You’ll KNOW when I take a “shot.” I hate to burst your bubble, but sometimes a friend can make a joke about a friend. You should try it. It’s a lot of fun.”
