Wednesday Night War 1/8/20: AEW Dynamite easily beats WWE NXT in live viewership

The ratings are in for the first live head-to-head match-up between AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT.

This week’s live viewership for Dynamite was 947,000 viewers and NXT drew 721,000 viewers.

AEW’s viewership was slightly down from last week’s 967,000 viewers but they were up against heavy sports competition last week and this week was the first live episode of NXT of 2020 so this week’s viewership is something they should be happy about since they managed to keep most of the audience from last week.

NXT was up from last week’s 548,000 viewers. The increase was expected since last week’s show featured taped matches.

This week’s AEW Dynamite was headlined by the segment featuring Jon Moxley making his decision on joining Chris Jericho’s Inner Circle. NXT closed out this week’s show with a Four-Way match to determine the number 1 contender for Roderick Strong’s North American Championship.
