Top WWE star currently not booked for WrestleMania 36

In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is a brief note on a big name who is currently not booked for WrestleMania 36 in Tampa.

Dave Meltzer noted that The Undertaker is not booked on the card but there are discussions going on regarding his participation. At this point, there is no obvious match for him and it’s not clear if the talks are for him to wrestle or just make an appearance on the show.

Taker made it clear on Stone Cold Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions that he is not ready to hang up his boots so we’ll see at least one more match from him (and probably more) this year. This would be his 30th year in the company so you can expect WWE to do something big for him at Survivor Series, the pay-per-view where he made his official TV debut in 1990.

As of now, only Brock Lesnar vs. Drew McIntyre has been announced for WrestleMania 36 in Tampa but, based on storylines and what was reported earlier this week by Meltzer, here is what some of the card looks like so far:

WWE Championship
Brock Lesnar (Champion) vs. Drew McIntyre

WWE Universal Championship
Bray Wyatt (Champion) vs. Roman Reigns

WWE Raw Women’s Championship
Becky Lynch (Champion) vs. Shayna Baszler

WWE NXT Women’s Championship
Rhea Ripley (Champion) vs. Charlotte Flair

Randy Orton vs. Edge

For those of you wondering about John Cena, he is currently not booked for the show but he told Sports Illustrated that he is off on that day and would be available if WWE calls him. Cena lives in Tampa so it would make sense to get him on the show and it would be easy to get him to make the short drive from his home.

Another name to look out for is Hulk Hogan. As far fetched as it seems, Hogan says he spoke with Vince McMahon about having one final WrestleMania match and Hogan has been training hard to get in shape in hopes of getting cleared. Click here to see a recent photo of Hogan looking ripped.
