The latest on Tyson Fury-WWE WrestleMania rumors

Nothing is confirmed but there has been talk in the last week or so about Tyson Fury doing something at WrestleMania 36.

Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the rumors have come up in the past week after his win over Deontay Wilder on Saturday night. As we noted after the fight, Braun Strowman offered to put up his Intercontinental Championship against Fury.

Meltzer noted there was talk about Fury before his fight on Saturday night but the talks were nothing serious because it was not known how he would fare in his fight with Wilder but now that the fight is over and he suffered minimal damage, that opens the door for WWE to work out something with Fury.

Fury’s stock has risen since his fight on Saturday night and he will be getting a ton of offers from many places. On most years, his asking price may not be worth it just to work for one night but with WWE trying to work out a deal with ESPN+ to move pay-per-view’s to their platform, they may feel it’s worth it since they would want to put on the biggest WrestleMania card as possible.

As we’ve written about, there have already been a few changes to the WrestleMania card in the last few days with Roman Reigns now scheduled to face Goldberg and John Cena scheduled to face Bray Wyatt. No one expects Fury to have a good match but his name will go a long way in the mainstream media hype.
