AEW star Sammy Guevara recently appeared on SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio. The Texas based star discussed a number of topics from his career thus far on the TNT based Dynamite programme. These included his initial training, as well as the elaborate ‘Panda Head’ that he wore to the ring for his Double or Nothing match.
Sammy Guevara Trained By Booker T
WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry asked Guevara how he felt being trained at Booker T’s school. “You know I was only there for less than a year” Guevara revealed. “But I’ve always said I’m trained by Book, I always give him the credit.”
Biggest Star In Texas
Sammy Guevara also revealed that he wants to be known as the ‘biggest’ star to come out of his home state of Texas. “I want to be the biggest one out of Texas. And there’s a lot of big names that come from Texas so I’m trying my best to be number one.”
Guevara then revealed that his ‘panda head’ cost in the region of Two. Thousand. Dollars. “I was at Double or Nothing. I felt like not a lot of people were too familiar with me or Kip Sabian. And so, I knew we’re gonna have a good match, because you know, I’m great. But rationally you need something a little bit more to stand out, you know. Because I knew that everybody was gonna have good matches on that night. I was like alright let me go and get this $2,000 panda head. That’s how much it costs Mark [Henry]. And so I got that because I was like, I want people by the end of the night…they’ll be talking about Dustin’s match, they will be talking about Kenny’s match. But I want them to be like, hey that panda guy, he had a great match.”
