As it was noted earlier, WWE NXT: The Great American Bash drew 759,000 total viewers and AEW Fyter Fest drew 715,000 viewers.
However, AEW drew a .28 rating in the key demos against NXT’s .20. As a result, AEW was listed 7th among all cable shows on Wednesday night as TV ratings are ranked by key demos. NXT ranked number 24 for the night.
Tony Khan appears to be very happy with the key demo numbers from last night and he should be since those numbers are what networks and advertisers care about the most.
Khan tweeted, “If anyone thinks I consider being a top 7 show on cable anything but a huge win, they’re incorrect. A win in the demo is a win in the business, and this is a business. I know the industry wasn’t talking about the demo as much 20 years ago, but it’s what drives our revenue today.”
Next week’s number will be interesting as AEW will present another stacked card for Fight For The Fallen. That show will be headlined by Jon Moxley defending the AEW World Championship against Brian Cage.
