WWE star was in line for big push before COVID-19 pandemic

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, WWE had big plans in place for a certain star.

Riddick Moss had previously explained the reason for his absence on WWE television was because his brother being at advanced risk of COVID-19 due to cystic fibrosis.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that Moss was sat out by Paul Heyman as a result as a way to avoid any potential heat of making the decision himself. It was noted that “Heyman was very high on Moss at the time and a big push was in order.”

Just before the pandemic, Moss was 24/7 Champion. Per the report, the company respected his wishes and created a story to get the title belt off of him. He did the job on the March 22 episode of Raw by losing the title to R-Truth.

It was reported by Dave Meltzer back in May that Moss’s absence from WWE television was not a bad sign for his future and officials hadn’t given up on him.

It should be noted that Moss has returned to television. He did so back on the August 10 episode of Raw where he did a Raw Underground segment by beating Cal Bloom by knockout.
