This week, there was a report from Sportskeeda’s Alex McCarthy on a possible creative shakeup on Raw. McCarthy cited sources telling him that Shane McMahon may end up taking over for Bruce Prichard on the creative end of things on Monday Night Raw.
Dave Meltzer commented on this story today on the Wrestling Observer forum: “Regarding Shane, after asking around, can’t so no 100% because Vince does keep things quiet and only he and Paul Levesque and maybe Bruce would know, but of those asked, none believed the story.”
Meltzer provided an update on the current creative situation in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Basically, Ed Koskey is the person driving creative, not Bruce Prichard. Prichard reportedly oversees the team and implements and executes orders from Vince McMahon and he makes sure that the departments are notified regarding plans for merchandising, network partners and promotional people. For example, if a certain wrestler is about to return, then the merchandise department would need to be notified so they could get t-shirts and other items ready.
Prichard also reportedly deals with USA and FOX but Kevin Dunn has also been stepping in and Nick Khan, who was recently hired, may end up doing that as well.
