Kyle O’Reilly defeated Drake Maverick via submission on this week’s episode of WWE NXT.
O’Reilly seemed happy with just getting the win but Bobby Fish and Roderick Strong insisted on attacking Maverick after the match was over.
Killian Dane ran out to the ring to help and then attack Maverick but the underlying story here seems to be the tease of O’Reilly splitting away from the group to possibly become a singles star. Adam Cole was not at ringside. He has bigger things to worry about next Tuesday when he wrestles in a 60-minute Four-Way Ironman match against Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano and Finn Balor to determine who will be the new NXT Champion.
This week’s episode of WWE NXT was very newsworthy, earlier in the show, it was announced that a new NXT Champion will be crowned on Tuesday after Karrion Kross relinquished the title, Breezango won the NXT Tag Team Championship, Austin Theory is back and Tommaso Ciampa brutally attacked Jake Atlas.
