Zelina Vega comments on her WWE return

Zelina Vega made her return to WWE television on Friday’s episode of SmackDown when she was introduced by authority figure Sonya Deville as the latest competitor in the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match. After a promo segment, she lost a match to Liv Morgan on the show.

Vega took to Twitter to issue this statement on her return to the company:

“What to take from tonight: I’m back. I’m going to be in the MITB ladder match. ..and I will win. Period. Everything else is irrelevant.”

She was released by WWE last November for reasons related to WWE’s third party edict. At the time, Sports Illustrated reported that it was due to her breaching her contract.

Vince McMahon put out the edict that would ban WWE stars from using third party platforms such as Twitch, Cameo and Only Fans under their ring names.

There had been speculation that she could head to AEW, but that didn’t happen. Back in May, it was reported she was at the Performance Center to film something and the working plan was for her to return to the company. Word got out minutes before she returned on SmackDown that she was backstage and waiting to walk out to the ring.
