Andrade El Idolo reportedly wants to bring Charlotte Flair (and others) to AEW

The AEW roster continues to grow with many top independent and former WWE names being added and if Andrade El Idolo has his way, his fiancee could end up working with him.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Andrade would like to have Charlotte and some of his close friends and family join the company.

“I would expect that he’s gonna wind up in AEW,” Meltzer said about Ric Flair. “I don’t know that he’s going to AEW but I can’t imagine him not being in AEW, especially right now…Here’s the thing though, I don’t know what the terms of the release are because I don’t know that Vince wants him with AEW so quickly. I don’t know how long the non-compete is.”

Meltzer added, “The big question [and] I know everyone’s gonna get pissed about this…Andrade has told people that he wants the whole family there. By the family it’s Rush, Bestia [666], Dragon Lee, him, Ashley, Ric, that’s what he wants. Ashley, I don’t know her. I certainly am not gonna speak for her [but] I sense that she wants to be in WWE, that it’s the big leagues to her but I don’t know. It would be a big perception get [for AEW] and I also don’t know when her contract ends. Believe me, I have been asked when her contract ends by many inside people, not in AEW, but reporters because what I just told you is something that everyone is talking about because everyone knows that story…I don’t expect that she is gonna leave but it is something every reporter worth their soul must have heard because I hear it all the time.”

It should be noted that in late 2019, Andrade and Charlotte both filed trademarks for their names.

Andrade filed to trademark “La Sombra” and “El Idolo” and Charlotte filed trademarks for “Ashley Flair” and “The Queen of Wrestling.” The trademark attorney on record is Michael E. Dockins. He handles many trademarks for AEW wrestlers but also has a connection to Conrad Thompson.
