Fans have picked up on the absence of AEW’s Riho from television over the last month after making her return to America from Japan.
Riho was last seen in action with a win over Amber Nova for AEW Dark on July 7th.
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Riho had a bad reaction to the COVID-19 vaccine, which has kept her out of action. It was added that she’s feeling better and should be returning soon.
Riho beat Nyla Rose to become the AEW Women’s Champion on the premiere episode of AEW Dynamite on TNT in October 2019.
The previous reason she had been gone from AEW last year was due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She traveled to the United States to work the AEW Women’s Title Eliminator Tournament.
Riho also most notably teamed up with Thunder Rosa for a tag team match against Britt Baker and Maki at the AEW Revolution PPV.
