Kenny Omega reacts to fans posting negative comments about AEW women’s division

Kenny Omega has been a big supporter of the women’s division in AEW and is focused on helping out the talent. Since the start of the promotion, fans have been critical of how All Elite Wrestling books the division despite its Women’s World Champion Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. being one of their biggest stars.

Baker retained the title over Riho at Saturday’s Battle of the Belts special from Charlotte, NC. Omega praised Baker and put over the feud between Serena Deeb and Hikaru Shida in this post on Twitter:

“A great #aew main event tonight! @riho_gtmv ‘s combination of technique, heart, and natural ability are unparalleled. Can she dethrone the DMD megastar @RealBrittBaker (No spoilers) Excited now for the next barn burner between @SerenaDeeb and @shidahikaru in their ongoing feud.”

Omega started to see negative comments from fans regarding the division so he sent out a follow-up tweet noting the following:

“It felt nice to tweet something I was passionate about, but yikes, what a mistake. What compels people to leave cruel comments about others on my page? If you like someone/someplace else, congrats. No need to go way out of your way to tweet at someone you already hate.”

Omega took time off from AEW in late November due to injuries that need to be surgically repaired. There’s no clear timeframe for his return aside from the belief that Omega will be gone for several months.
