Moose reveals he had offers from WWE and AEW before re-signing with Impact

Moose appeared on “Busted Open” to explain why he re-signed with Impact despite getting offers from WWE and AEW, as well as his thoughts on the present day NFL.

Moose said he re-signed with Impact despite getting offers from WWE and AEW:

“I just re-signed with Impact in June or July. It was a hard decision because there were other offers. The chance to go to WWE and AEW was out there,” Moose shared.

“I’m one of the guys where I have a set of goals I want to accomplish and if I don’t accomplish those goals, it’s not going to sit right with me. There were some goals I had in mind I wanted to accomplish in Impact Wrestling like being the World Champion, being face of the company, and having a real title run because I didn’t consider when I had the TNA Heavyweight Championship as a real run because of the story of how I got it. I wanted a real run with the Impact World Championship just to see how my run would be different from the guys in the past who held it.”

“It just didn’t sit right with me leaving to go somewhere else without accomplishing some of those goals. Ultimately, it was my decision to stay and it was a good one. I think one of the reasons why people choose Impact is because of the freedom of creativity. You go elsewhere and your character is in their hands. They run your character however they see fit, whereas in Impact, you have the freedom to create what Moose should be. I feel like a lot of guys want that freedom to create what their characters should be, and I think that’s why a lot of guys choose Impact.”

Moose said he is not a fan of the NFL despite playing in it:

“To be honest, I don’t even watch football. I don’t watch it at all. A lot of people don’t know this, but I was never a football fan. It was just something that I was luckily good at, but I didn’t care for football at all. I couldn’t even tell you who is in the playoffs. I’m more of a basketball guy.”

On being a football player he said, “I didn’t love it. I actually hated it but I was luckily good at it, so every time I went to work, I had to force myself to go to work. Every time I had a game, I had to force myself to be in the right mindset to play a game, whereas wrestling has been easy because I actually love it. The day before the PPV, I’m like, ‘I can’t wait to sleep so I can wake up and get ready for this PPV.’ I was that excited, whereas there was no time in my football career that I felt that. It was like having to go to that job that you really hate but pays a lot of money so you go in anyway. That’s what football was for me.”
