Johnny Knoxville from the “Jackass” franchise is going to be part of this year’s WWE Royal Rumble event as he will compete in the Men’s Royal Rumble match. He has made past appearances on WWE television for several years and has been featured leading up to the show in various segments.
WrestleVotes reported today that Knoxville’s involvement with the company is just the Royal Rumble. However, WWE is working on another celebrity appearance for WrestleMania 38:
“Source states Johnny Knoxville’s Royal Rumble involvement is slated to be Rumble only & done on Saturday. However, WWE is indeed working on another celebrity appearance for WrestleMania. I asked who & couldn’t get a name. Either b/c it’s “top secret” (unlikely) or it’s undecided.”
The reason Knoxville is working the match is due to a deal being made to promote the “Jackass Forever” movie that comes out in theaters on February 4th, just days after the Royal Rumble.
Last year for WrestleMania 37, WWE brought in Bad Bunny, who was widely praised by fans and wrestlers for his work in a tag team match where he was paired with Damian Priest against The Miz and John Morrision.
