Sidelined AEW star is still waiting to hear about return plans

AEW has found itself in an interesting spot with a decline in TV ratings, ticket sales, and interest among fans. However, they still have a lot going for them, and with 2024 right around the corner, they can start the new year with a fresh slate.

Where has she been?

Thunder Rosa will be headed back to the ring whenever she gets the call from AEW after being sidelined for over a year. The top AEW star has been inactive with a back injury.

She first had to pull out of an AEW Women’s Title defense at last year’s All Out before relinquishing the title. Her last match saw her victorious in trios competition alongside Toni Storm and Hikaru Shida, where they beat Emi Sakura, Marina Shafir, and Nyla Rose in August 2022.

Looking ahead

While being out of the ring, Rosa has been doing Spanish commentary for the promotion. She’s medically cleared and waiting to hear about what AEW has planned for her ring.

While speaking with News 4 in San Antonio, Rosa was asked about her in-ring status.

“It’s very tough,” Rosa stated. “It’s mentally, physically and spiritually tough. But it’s been a beautiful journey from the lows to the highest. I am ready. I am whenever that call…my boss says, ‘It’s time for you to return.’ Like, I am super excited and I cannot wait to show to the world and all you fans who have been supporting me all this time that I am ready. And I have a lot more to give.”
