Tony Khan dropped some big news today on his Twitter/X account regarding a wrestler who has signed with AEW.
Khan stated that AEW has agreed to terms with “one of the world’s best wrestlers” who is “known + respected by virtually every AEW fan.” Khan also stated that this person would be at Full Gear to sign their contract.
There were no further hints given but for those wondering if any of the recently-released WWE stars could show up at the pay-per-view, that is highly doubtful because their 90-day non-compete would not be up until the end of the next month.
There has been speculation about names like Dolph Ziggler, Mustafa Ali, Shelton Benjamin, and others possibly joining the promotion but if they are signed, we likely won’t see them until early January. Another name that has been rumored is Mercedes Mone, the former Sasha Banks. We’ll find out this Saturday.
