AEW star reportedly declined to lose a battle royal, hasn’t been booked in months

Miro finds himself in an odd spot in AEW as he’s over with the fans, and people had high expectations for him in AEW when he first joined the promotion as it was viewed as a possible boost to his career, but things have turned out the way Miro nor fans wanted.

As previously reported, Miro is ready to wrestle again and be back on television, but AEW hasn’t presented him with any creative plans. After a strong 2021 run, Miro only had four matches in 2022 and hasn’t been seen on television in months.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that AEW President Tony Khan pitched an idea for Miro, who is currently in Bulgaria, last September at Full Gear, where he would lose a battle royal after making it to the finals with Hangman Page, but Miro didn’t like it.

Meltzer wrote, “Tony Khan had pitched an idea for him in September for Full Gear. One thing he turned down was losing a Battle Royal where he and Adam Page would have been the last two. Khan had said that after the PPV, they’d try and get back, and obviously, his name hasn’t been mentioned since.”

Miro has three years left on his current AEW deal.
