WWE NXT star pulled from qualifying match on tonight’s show

One WWE NXT star won’t compete as scheduled on tonight’s episode, and that’s Wendy Choo.

Earlier this month, WWE did an angle where Choo was attacked in the poorly secured parking lot at the Performance Center as she was the latest victim to be beaten down by a mystery attacker.

WWE usually does this to write talent off television due to an injury, which was the case for Choo. It was later reported that Choo was injured, but she wouldn’t be sidelined for long. Last Friday, WWE announced new matches for tonight’s show, including the in-ring return of Choo, who was slated to work an NXT Women’s Championship qualifying match against Lyra Valkyria.

As seen below, Choo has been replaced by Ivy Nile in the match. Fans noticed the change on social media, and if you go to WWE’s website, Choo is still listed in the URL for the Valkyria vs. Nile bout.

The qualifying matches were done in case NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez couldn’t work Stand & Deliver. A recent report provided a positive update on her status, which you can see here. Below is the updated NXT lineup:
