Butch continues to tease fans about going back to his Pete Dunne gimmick.
The former NXT UK Champion aligned with Ridge Holland and Sheamus when he was called up to the main roster last March.
Since then, Butch has teased fans about returning to the character and did so again when he shared a photo of himself with the NXT UK Title with the caption, “remember.”
Butch may get his wish, as it was reported earlier this week that Butch is set to revert to his old gimmick. Triple H originally planned to do this in 2022 before the Brawling Brutes got over, and plans were pushed back because they were so hot. WWE has kept The Brawling Brutes off television as of late. However, they were spotted in a backstage segment with Sheamus as he prepared for his #1 contender’s match against Drew McIntyre on Friday’s episode of SmackDown.
The match ended in a DQ, leading to the announcement that Gunther would defend the Intercontinental Title against Sheamus and McIntyre at WrestleMania Goes Hollywood.
