The return of a former star is in WWE’s current plans

2024 is expected to be an active year in the pro wrestling free agency marketplace, with contracts from the top promotions – WWE, AEW, NJPW, and TNA – slated to expire.

Hiatus

Andrade is not the only former WWE star slated to make his return to the company after being away for a while, as Trinity, formerly known as Naomi in WWE, is expected to make her way back.

Due to creative differences, Trinity walked out of WWE alongside Mercedes Mone in May 2022. They were later suspended until they negotiated their release, where they went their separate ways. Trinity went to Impact Wrestling, and Mone headed to NJPW.

Mone had talks with WWE about returning, but those talks fell through. She’s expected to make her AEW imminently. Earlier this week, it was reported Trinity is expected to be a free agent very soon and will be finishing up with TNA. She does have a Knockouts Title defense scheduled for next Saturday’s Hard to Kill.

The latest

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that their sources in WWE noted her return was “expected and in the current plans.”

Meltzer wrote, “There had been unofficial talks with her dating back nearly a year, and those in TNA expected this would happen when her deal was up.”
