Bryan Danielson Has Become More Important in the AEW Creative Process

AEW President Tony Khan has a lot of responsibilities both in the wrestling world and out of it with his soccer and NFL commitments. He is booking two promotions in AEW and ROH while also having three weekly AEW television shows once Collision premieres on June 17.

He has brought in some outside help by hiring Will Washington, and now Bryan Danielson is starting to help out, something he had been doing towards the end of his WWE tenure.

Danielson has been feuding with The Elite alongside his Blackpool Combat Club stablemates as they scored a win in the Anarchy in the Arena Match at Double or Nothing. He will take on former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada at Forbidden Door on June 25th.

It was reported last month that Danielson would be seeing his creative responsibilities behind the scenes at All Elite Wrestling increase by being part of creative for Collision. Danielson reportedly had a positive impact on the June 2nd episode of Rampage as he came up with the idea of the Championship Friday show.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that Danielson’s influence on creative has grown as he and Khan share the same views on wrestling.

Meltzer wrote, “Bryan Danielson has become more important of late in creative.” It was added, “Danielson was described as someone who adds good input into any booking conversation. It was said when Khan is booking ideas and he’s in the room with him, he pushes Khan to think harder and improves his thinking, like he adds more enthusiasm to Khan.”
