Trish Stratus doesn’t know why the word ‘wrestler’ is banned in WWE

Trish Stratus made an appearance on WWE After The Bell to discuss her career and turning heel by attacking Becky Lynch.

While praising Victoria and other wrestlers she’s worked with, the WWE Hall of Famer admitted that she doesn’t know why the word ‘wrestler’ is banned from being used on WWE television. For years, Vince McMahon has had a list of banned terms that wrestlers and on-air talent cannot use. She pushed for WWE to induct Victoria into the Hall of Fame next after Keibler was honored in this year’s class.

“I love Tori Wilson and Stacy Keibler, but this is a wrestling….I don’t know why we don’t say wrestling for some reason. I don’t know why, because I’m a wrestler and we work for World Wrestling Entertainment. But yeah, I mean, I’d like to see, maybe a wrestler maybe get into the Hall of Fame next, maybe like Victoria would be great.

In 2020, Dave Meltzer compiled a list of the banned words McMahon didn’t like. You can watch the entire interview by clicking on the player below:
