Vince McMahon insisted a WWE producer be referred to differently backstage

The way things are run from when Vince McMahon was in charge of creative to now with Triple H are night and day. There have been countless stories about McMahon’s interesting corks, including names and terms.

Former TNA wrestler Petey Williams is working for WWE as a backstage producer. On Monday’s Raw, he took a spear from Bobby Lashley and was referred to as Pete.

Many fans were surprised to hear Petey referred to as Pete. Fightful Select reports this goes back to a mandate by McMahon.

“PETE WILLIAMS turned some heads when he wasn’t referred to as “Petey Williams” on Raw, as he’s been his entire career. We were actually told this past summer that was an insistence of Vince McMahon, who demanded he be referred to as “Pete” backstage.”

As previously reported, The Wall Street Journal came out with a report today regarding McMahon’s intent to make a WWE comeback after resigning from the company over the summer. The report also noted another accusation of assault against McMahon.
