WWE Hall Of Famer took to Instagram today to explain why he’s been posting workout videos on his account as of late.
The workout videos have added fuel to reports that Austin is looking at possibly wrestling one more match at WrestleMania 39. Various places, including WrestleVotes and Fightful, reported on the talk in WWE about Austin coming back and Dave Meltzer wrote in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there is smoke to the fire and there have been discussions.
Austin said on Instagram that he’s received questions asking if he was training for an event but he said that he is simply working out more because he got tired of “looking like sh*t.”
Austin did not specifically comment on the reports that say he is in talks with WWE about returning and he did not shoot down the idea of wrestling again.
After his return this year at WrestleMania 38, Austin expressed interest in returning for an appearance at Mania 39 if he got the call. At the time, he was ruling out wrestling again but the recent reports indicate that he may have the itch to do more.
At WrestleMania 38, Austin wrestled and beat Kevin Owens. The following night, he stunned Vince McMahon. Prior to WrestleMania 38, Austin had not wrestled since WrestleMania 19 in 2003. His retirement was brought on by neck issues.
