WWE has no imminent creative plans for NXT star

It looked like WWE was going to use Commander Azeez as the bodyguard of Cora Jade, but that is no longer the case.

In June, it was reported that WWE was going to send Azeez and Apollo Crews down to NXT, which happened. Crews has appeared on NXT television in most weeks as he continues to build his new character.

At the July 23rd house show, Azeez walked out with Jade and they proceeded to lose a tag team match to Sanga and Ivy Nyle. Since then, Azeez hasn’t been used on television or at house shows.

Fightful Select reported this morning that WWE doesn’t have plans for Azeez at the moment. It was noted: “When we last asked, we weren’t told of any imminent plans for Commander Azeez.”

Azeez joined WWE in 2016 where he made his main roster debut in 2018 as part of The Greatest Royal Rumble from Saudi Arabia. At WrestleMania 37, he helped Crews win the Intercontinental Championship and the two had been aligned up until this summer.
