MJF is a neutral witness in the investigation into backstage fight between CM Punk and AEW EVPs

There is an ongoing third party investigation into the fight following the AEW All Out media scrum involving CM Punk, Ace Steel, Kenny Omega, Matt & Nick Jackson.

The Elite, Pat Buck, Chris Daniels, Michael Nakazawa, and Brandon Cutler have been suspended by the promotion. Punk allegedly threw punches at Matt Jackson, Steel threw a chair at Nick Jackson, and Steel was biting and pulling Omega’s hair during the fight that started after Punk ripped Colt Cabana, Hangman Page, Omega, and The Bucks at the media scrum.

There will be interviews done in the investigation with every person involved in the altercation to determine exactly what happened.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that the investigation will also have interviews with a number of neutral parties who were in the room and were believed to have seen everything as it happened.

The key names that would be included are MJF and AEW Chief Legal Officer Megha Parekh.

There still could be outside legal proceedings regarding the fight from different sides and any long-term decisions by AEW President Tony Khan will be made after the investigation is complete.

CM Punk is expected to be out of action for 6-8 months due to him undergoing surgery on a torn triceps muscle that he suffered in his match against Jon Moxley at All Out.
