Interesting stat about Liv Morgan’s SmackDown Women’s Title win at WWE Money in the Bank

Liv Morgan had a special night at last Saturday’s WWE Money in the Bank event.

She won the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match and successfully cashed in her contract to become SmackDown Women’s Champion later that night by beating Ronda Rousey, who moments before had retained the title over Natalya.

Reddit user u/damng1 pointed out that Morgan’s title win marked the first time in several years that a new SmackDown Women’s Champion was crowned without one of the Four Horsewomen (Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Bayley, & Sasha Banks) involved.

Bayley won MITB in 2019 and cashed in on Flair to win the SmackDown Women’s Title, while Asuka was given the Raw Women’s Title by Lynch due to Lynch being pregnant. Last year, Nikki A.S.H cashed in on Flair to become the Raw Women’s Champion.

Morgan’s cash-in also the trend of short women’s Money in the Bank reigns as Carmella cashed in two days hours after winning the briefcase in 2017. Bliss cashed in under 3 hours after winning the briefcase, while Nikki A.S.H held it for 24 hours.

Rousey beat Flair in an I Quit match to become the SmackDown Women’s Champion at WrestleMania Backlash. WWE already has plans in place for Morgan at SummerSlam.
