There Is Concern Backstage About AEW’s Attendance And Popularity

AEW started off strong in 2019, with fans rallying behind the promotion. They wanted a different product from what WWE and Vince McMahon were offering them.

However, once Triple H took over creative in the summer of 2022, AEW’s popularity saw a decline. Many believe that fans who had shifted to supporting AEW went back to watching WWE and stopped watching AEW’s product on a regular basis once they saw what they liked again. AEW is still a strong business, with an expected increase in money in its next TV deal.

However, AEW’s attendance figures, ticket sales, and TV ratings have been heavily discussed. In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that while the locker room is better in some instances, the difference is that most people get along and like Tony Khan.

Meltzer wrote, “But there is a concern about attendance and popularity that wasn’t there in the past. The locker room generally gets along.”

AEW announced on Thursday that All In Texas will be held next July at Globe Life Field in Arlington, TX.
