Samantha Irvin Resigned After Not Coming To Terms With WWE For Outside Projects

On Monday, WWE Raw announcer Samantha Irvin announced that she was departing from WWE. Lillian Garcia filled in for her on this week’s Raw episode.

Following the news of her departure, Fightful and WrestleVotes reported that those in WWE were surprised by her leaving. She is not expected to go to AEW, which is something noted by her fiance, Ricochet.

Fightful and PWInsider.com report that Irvin wasn’t released by the company, but rather she resigned. While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, it was noted Irvin was thinking about leaving for a year now as she plans to do outside projects.

Dave Meltzer: “She’s actually been thinking about it for a year.”

Bryan Alvarez: “She’s got some outside projects she wants to do, apparently couldn’t come to terms with how it worked with WWE, and off she goes.”

Meltzer: “She wants to be a singer…She wants to get more involved with her music. It was just something she had been talking about for a long, long time, and finally pulled the trigger on it, and that’s about it, really. It’s not like planning on going to AEW, not saying 100 percent that she won’t go. Ricochet actually tweeted that she’s not going, and it’s not her intention to go there.”
