Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson appeared on Tuesday’s episode of WWE NXT, delivering a message to the developing roster and responding to recent criticism of his actions on Raw.
The Rock underscored the importance of supporting NXT, suggesting the current crop of talent could be headlining WrestleMania in three years or find themselves out of the wrestling business entirely. He encouraged fans to be aware of the impact of their reactions, as they can significantly influence wrestlers’ careers.
Earlier in the show, The Rock stepped into a confrontation between his daughter/NXT General Manager Ava and wrestler Ethan Page. He cautioned Page about the repercussions of his past behavior while acknowledging Ava’s authority within NXT. This is the first time that Rock and Ava appeared together in a WWE segment.
The Rock’s appearance on NXT follows his return to WWE on Monday’s Raw, where he praised Cody Rhodes and celebrated with Roman Reigns after his victory in the Tribal Combat match. Rock said that he’s 20 steps ahead and hinted at more to come when he stated that he’s has a plan and basically “enjoy the ride,” echoing what he said during last year’s WrestleMania build.
