El MesÃas, also known as former TNA star Ricky Banderas (Judas Mesias), is now officially listed as part of the Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide roster internally within WWE, according to a report from PWInsiderElite.com.
The 50-year-old veteran returned to AAA in March 2024. This return came just one month before WWE announced its acquisition of the Mexican promotion during WrestleMania 41 weekend. El MesÃas had previously enjoyed a lengthy and successful run with AAA from 2006 until 2018.
During that time, he was a four-time AAA Mega Champion, won the Rey de Reyes tournament in 2013, and captured the AAA World Tag Team Championship once with Pagano. Beyond AAA, El MesÃas has competed for numerous promotions throughout his extensive career.
He wrestled in TNA Wrestling as Judas Mesias, where he was involved in a notable feud with Abyss. He also performed in Lucha Underground as Mil Muertes (later King Muertes), holding the Lucha Underground Championship.
Other promotions on his resume include MLW, CMLL, WWC where he held the Universal Heavyweight Championship, the International Wrestling Association in Puerto Rico, and MTV’s Wrestling Society X.
