Booker T Has A Strong Message For “Old Guys” Knocking Young Talent

On his Hall of Fame with Booker T and Brad Gilmore podcast, Booker T gave a strong opinion on veterans of his generation who have recently made negative comments about today’s wrestlers, specifically citing Mark Henry and Goldberg.

“Stay Out of It”

“I hate to say this. I hate to say this because Goldberg is a friend of mine… Mark Henry is a friend of mine too,” Booker T began. “But I think these old guys need to stay out of what these young guys are doing.”

He continued, “We had our time, and for us to think about in any way knocking with these young guys and what these young girls are doing today is just totally out of bounds. That’s just how I feel. I mean, we had our time. We had our time in the sunshine. We ran with it, we ran hard. It was a great time. And for us to talk about what these young guys are doing right now in a negative way, I just think it’s wrong in any way, shape or form.”

On Mark Henry’s Finisher Comment

Booker T specifically addressed reports that Mark Henry was upset about Will Hobbs’ finisher name. “I heard Mark Henry say that he was disappointed with AEW for changing the name of his World’s Strongest Slam to the World’s Most Dangerous Slam, you know, for Will Hobbs,” Booker said. “And I’m like, bro, you know what? I mean, come on, you’re not doing it anymore.”

He questioned the motive, adding, “You got to be trying to get some clicks. You got to be because you really can’t be upset about that. That’s got to be a joke.”

On Goldberg’s recent comments regarding her previously unbeaten streak, Booker T said, “I don’t know, man. I just don’t get it.”

“For me, when I hear comments from guys of my generation talking any other way than trying to pump these young guys up, it just baffles me.”
