A Lot of AEW Stars Are Unhappy With the Booking of Women’s Division

The AEW women’s division has been criticized by fans due to the depth of the roster for years.

Coming out of Wednesday’s Dynamite, a focus on the lack of matches involving female talent was brought among fans on social media. In most weeks, the women will get one match booked on Dynamite while the men will have several.

On the July 19th Dynamite, AEW booked Britt Baker in a short match because the promotion felt they needed at least one women’s match on the show or there would be pushback.

Earlier this week, independent wrestler LuFusto hinted that there may be issues backstage with the women’s roster with this tweet:

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select was asked during a Q&A session about whether folks backstage are as frustrated with the booking as fans:

“A lot of the women are, But there’s also a lot of people who are very aloof and like, ‘Ah, why bother’ type of stuff. Obviously, you’re never gonna win those people over no matter what.”
