AEW’s Scorpio Sky Was Injured in a “Freak Accident”

Scorpio Sky was one of the first wrestlers to sign with the promotion back in 2019. In the early days of his career with AEW saw him part of SoCal Uncensored alongside Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian. Sky later turned on Daniels and Kazarian before being paired with Ethan Page, where they formed The Men of the Year team.

Before joining AEW, he worked for various promotions, such as WWE (2012–2013), TNA (2012–2013), ROH (2010, 2017–2018), and NJPW (2018–2019).

AEW had originally announced that Sky would be wrestling Kip Sabian on Friday’s episode of Rampage, which was taped from the MVP Arena in Albany, NY after Dynamite went off the air.

However, AEW President Tony Khan later announced that Sky was pulled from the bout due to an injury and was unable to compete, leading to Komander replacing him.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select was asked during a Q&A session how the injury happened.

“A freak accident is what I’ve been told. Just an absolute freak accident. Nobody knows how long he’ll be out. He was on crutches at the show, though.”
