Fans have wondered where one AEW star has been in recent months and when Tony Khan will bring them back to television.
That is looking to be answered soon, as Sammy Guevara is coming back after a hiatus after AEW suspended him due to an incident with Jeff Hardy in February during a Rampage match.
Hardy was injured during the bout when taking a knee to the head on a shooting star press, resulting in him suffering a broken nose and being out of it. They finished the match after Hardy said he was okay but hasn’t wrestled since then.
The suspension was due to him not following concussion protocol. AEW had to change plans as the original plans called for him to be paired with Chris Jericho as a tag team with Guevara in the Tag Team Title tournament to crown new champions, eventually won by The Young Bucks.
Last month, Dave Meltzer reported that things had been pitched for Guevara. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported in a Q&A that Guevara should be returning soon.
He said, “Yeah, he’s factored into creative plans pretty soon, from what I understand.”
