Welcome to our live coverage of AEW Dynamite, which is emanating from The Now Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Announced for tonight’s show, Bryan Danielson will take on Jake Hager with Chris Jericho on commentary, Toni Storm will team up with Hikaru Shida to take on the team of Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter, United Empire will take on The Elite in an AEW trios tag team championship tournament match, and we will hear from the AEW Undisputed world champion, Jon Moxley.
– Jon Moxley makes his entrance, Moxley says that they are still mopping up Punk from the mat in Cleveland, Moxley says that he had 57 minutes left in him last week but Punk didn’t, Moxely says that Punk hit him with his best shots but he kept coming forward, Moxley says thar Punk folded into a ball to die, Moxley says that champions never fold, Moxley says that he’s sorry that Punk didn’t turn out what anyone wanted him to be in AEW, Moxley says thar Punk has a week mind and spirit, Moxley then presents an open contract for a championship match at All Out, Moxley says that he’s the living embodiment of wrestling, Moxley then leaves through the crowd, Ace Steele then comes out to pick up the contract.
– Daniel Garcia chooses to stay with The Jericho Appreciation Society, Garcia says that Jericho will beat Danielson on Sunday.
Match 1: Bryan Danielson vs Jake Hager
– The match starts off with Bryan kicking at Hager’s leg, Hager then punches away at Bryan’s stomach in the corner, Hager then throws Bryan by his head, Bryan then locks Hager in a standing chokehold, Bryan then hits a tope suicida on Hager, Hager then slams Bryan through the timekeeper’s table, Hager then slams Bryan back first into the ringpost, followed by a snap suplex on the outside, Hager then lands a series of forearms to the head of Bryan, Hager then hits a slam on Bryan as we go to commercial break.

– We are back from commercial as we see Hager slap Bryan on the top rope, Hager then lands a series of punches onto Bryan, Bryan then hits a shotgun dropkick from the top rope onto Hager, Bryan then kicks away at the chest of Hager, Bryan then lands a series of elbow strikes to the side of Hager’s head, Hager then hits a powerbomb on Bryan, followed by a series of hammerfists, Bryan then locks Hager in the yes lock but Hager is able to reach the bottom rope, Bryan then lands a series of kicks and chops to the chest of Hager, Bryan then hits the running knee to the face of Hager to secure the pinfall victory.

– After the match, The Jericho Appreciation Society attack Bryan, Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli then come out to make the save, Jericho then tries to hit Bryan with a steel chair but Daniel Garcia takes the chair away from him, Bryan then hits the running knee on Jericho.
– The Wingmen are in the ring, Ryan Nemeth says that they are the hottest men on the roster, W. Morrissey then interrupts, Morrissey then hits Cezar Bononi with a big boot, Morrissey then hits a chokeslam on JD Drake, Morrissey then hits a chokeslam on Nemeth, Morrissey then chokeslams Peter Avalon with one hand, Stokely Hathaway then gives Hager his business ticket.
Match 2: Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter vs Hikaru Shida and Toni Storm
– The match starts off with Shida and Hayter, Hater then takes down Shida with a shoulder tackle, Toni then lands a series of stomps to Hayter in the corner, Hayter then trips Toni as we go to commercial break.

– We are back from commercial as we see Toni hits a tornado DDT on Britt, Shida then hits Hayter with ten punches in the corner, Shida then hits a meteora on Hayter, Britt then hits a swinging neckbreaker on Shida, Shida then pulls Hayter off the apron, Toni then hits a running hip attack onto Britt in the corner, Toni then hits a tornado DDT on Hayter on the outside, Shida then pins Baker.
Winners via pinfall: Hikaru Shida and Toni Storm at 7:40.
– CM Punk makes his entrance, Punk says that he wrestled an entire match with a broken foot, Punk says that he got three plates and sixteen screws put into his foot, Punk says that he came back too early from a serious injury, Punk says thar he was cleared last week 100% but he doesn’t know if that’s good enough, Punk says that he loves the fans and they love him back, Punk says that he felt like he let the fans down, Punk says that maybe the love of the fans isn’t enough, Ace Steele then interrupts, Steele says that this isn’t who Punk is, Steele says that he’s been Punk’s coach from day one, Steele says that Punk fought through everything to get where he was, Steele says that him and Punk are family and you don’t let family down, Steele then slaps and pushes Punk to motivate him, Steele then yells at Punk to sign the contract, Punk says they’ve been trying to kill since the day he was born and no one has done it yet, Punk then walks through the crowd while trash talking Moxley, Punk says that this is Chicago, where the weak are killed and eaten, Punk then accepts the contract in the crowd.
– We get footage from earlier in the day of Jim Ross conducting a sit-down interview with Christian Cage and Jungle Boy, Cage says thar he’s going to destroy Jungle Boy at less than 100%, Jungle Boy says that he’s cared about Christian alot and that he loved him, Christian says that he’s not here to be Jungle Boy’s father, Jungle Boy says that his father taught him what it is to be a man, Jungle Boy says thar on Sunday, Christian will be facing Jack Perry.
Match 3: FTR and Wardlow vs
– The match starts off with Wardlow and Jones, Wardlow then headbutts Jones, Cash then hits a backelbow to the face of Jones, Dax then lands a series of chops to the chest of Jones in the corner, FTR then hits the big rig, Wardlow then hits two powerbombs to secure the pinfall victory.
Winners via pinfall: Wardlow and FTR at 2:02.
– Jon Moxley then makes his entrance once again, Moxley says that Punk wants to go out on his shield in front of his fans, Moxley says that he’s going to try to take Punk’s head off, Moxley says that he will produce violence Punk has never seen before, Moxley says that he’s going into a legend before everyone’s eyes.
Match 4: Dante Martin vs Rush vs Fenix vs Wheeler Yuta
– The match starts off with Yuta locking Rush in an octopus hold, Dante then hits a crossbody from the top rope onto Rush, Dante then hits a code red on Fenix, Fenix then hits a tope suicida cannonball onto Rush on the outside, Yuta then takes out Fenix with a tope suicida, Dante then hits a corkscrew from the top of the middle rope, taking out all three men, Rush then takes out all three men with a plancha as we go to commercial break.

– We are back from commercial as we see Rush hit a german suplex on Dante into Fenix, Fenix then hits an enziguri on Rush, Fenix then hits a springboard back kick to the face of Rush, Yuta then pushes Dante off the top rope, Fenix then hits a splash to the outside onto Rush, Yuta then rolls up Dante to secure the pinfall victory.

Match 5: United Empire vs The Elite
– The match starts off with Ospreay and Omega, Both men then exchange a series of punches, Omega then chops the chest of Ospreay, Ospreay then closelines Omega to the outside, Nick then hits a hurricarana on Ospreay, Ospreay then hits a corkscrew onto The Bucks and Omega on the outside, all men brawl on the ramp as we go to commercial break.

– We are back from commercial as we see Mark land a series of chops on the Bucks, followed by a double suplex on The Bucks, Fletcher then hits a cutter on Matt, Omaga then hits a chop to the chest of Mark, Omega then hits a german suplex on Fletcher and Mark, Ospreay then hits a hurricarana on Omega, Omega then hits a suplex on Ospreay on the outside, Fletcher and Mark then hit a doubleteam suplex on Omega from the top rope, Ospreay then hits a backbreaker on Omega to secure a nearfall as we go to commercial break.
