AEW has filed trademarks for two new names that could point toward a potential event down the line.
On April 13, the company applied to trademark both “AEW Redemption” and “Redemption,” with both applications listing professional wrestling programs and events in the goods and services section. The filings cover entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests, live professional wrestling performances, production of professional wrestling programs and events, and production and distribution of ongoing television programs in the field of professional wrestling.
There is no confirmation on whether AEW Redemption would be a new pay-per-view or a television special. Trademark filings of this nature do not guarantee that anything will come of them. AEW still holds trademarks for terms such as “Exile on Pain St.” that have never been used.
The trademark for AEW’s upcoming golf-themed “Fairway to Hell” edition of Collision, set to take place in West Palm Beach, Florida, next month, was filed nearly two years before it was put into use.
AEW is coming off its Dynasty pay-per-view event. You can check out the card for tonight’s Dynamite here.
