AEW Full Gear results: MJF retains World Title in a gutsy performance

AEW World Heavyweight Champion MJF vs. Jay White took place at the AEW Full Gear 2023 pay-per-view event from Los Angeles, Clianfora at the Kia Forum. Earlier in the night, The Gunns attacked MJF after the ROH Tag Team Title match on the pre-show with a chair, leading MJF to be rushed to the hospital. Adam Cole prevented White from winning the title in a forfeit so despite being on crutches, he said he would take on White and defend the title.

As the match started, MJF drove the ambulance into the arena and walked to the ring with his quad taped. White went right after the quad. The Gunns got involved at ringside and they were tossed from ringside before MJF mounted a comeback including the kangaroo kick. MJF went for a dive, but White took out his leg. They brawled to the floor where MJF hit a DDT. They were going to do an announce table spot, but the table broke so MJF went to the top rope anyways and hit an elbow drop. White with a powerslam off the top rope for 2. MJF went for the heat seeker, but White pushed him off. MJF leaped over the top rope with a cutter to the floor. MJF went right after the quad and locked in the figure four leg lock. Cole tried to hit White with the ROH Tag Team Title, but White got it and hit MJF with it for a near fall. There was a referee bump. White got the diamond ring from Cole, but MJF hit him with a low blow. The Gunns came out, but MJF laid them out with the diamond ring. MJF hit White with the ring as well for the win.
