AEW star is getting closer to making an in-ring return

AEW could be getting one of its more promising young stars back in the near future from injury as the company closes in on its final pay-per-view event of the year, Worlds End, on December 30 and rings in the new year.

The injury

That star is Dante Martin, who has been out of action since the ROH Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view event earlier this year when he was wrestling Action Andretti while working a pre-show match. Martin was wrestling in the Reach for the Sky ladder match.

He injured himself while taking a destroyer from Penta El Zero Miedo off a ladder through multiple tables. He was rushed to the hospital after the event. The previous update on Martin’s status was this past July when ROH commentator Ian Riccaboni said on commentary that Martin was ahead of schedule and was healing up.

The update

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that “Martin was backstage at a recent AEW show and is nearing a return from injury.”

While his brother was on the sidelines, Darius Martin has been active by working both singles and teaming with Andretti.

We wish Martin a speedy recovery and look forward to his return.
