AEW star Kenny Omega out of action indefinitely

Kenny Omega announced on X that he will be out of action indefinitely. Omega posted, “I can’t really sugar coat this. I’m out indefinitely. I tried to keep pushing past the pain for as long as I could until it became too much. Luckily doctors caught me when they did. I’ll be here so in the mean time, please enjoy wrestling!”

Omega appeared on AEW Dynamite this past Wednesday in a promo segment where he and Chris Jericho set up a match with the Tag Team Champions Ricky Starks and Big Bill for the Worlds End pay-per-view. At this point, it’s unclear what the alternate plan will be with Omega not being able to wrestle.

Omega took a hiatus from AEW in November of 2021 due to injuries and he later underwent hernia and knee surgery. Omega has been wrestling primarily in tag and Trios matches since his return to action.

He last wrestled on AEW Collision against Ethan Page. At Full Gear in November, Omega and Chris Jericho (The Golden Jets) teamed up with Kota Ibusi and Paul White to defeat Brian Cage, Konosuke Takeshita, Kyle Fletcher and Powerhouse Hobbs in a Street Fight. Best wishes to Omega on his recovery.
