AEW Star’s Contract Could Be Up Next Month

A notable AEW star will have to decide whether to stay or leave the promotion after joining a few years ago.

Saraya joined AEW in 2022 after she spent several years retired due to spinal stenosis and not being medically cleared. Saraya won the Women’s Title at All In 2023, only to hold it for a few weeks.

Saraya doesn’t have a match lined up for Sunday’s All In pay-per-view event but will wrestle Women’s Champion Toni Storm on Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite. This is ahead of Storm defending the title against Mariah May at All In.

Fightful Select reports Saraya could end up on the free agent market, as sources noted that her deal with AEW extends until at least September, where there were option years. The nature of the option years has been debated internally, as sources on each side have claimed to have held the rights.

Fightful was able to confirm that the two sides have been in talks about extending the deal for another year, whether that be a completely new deal or exercising the option. It was added that Saraya is planned for the All In show.

When she had talks with WWE before signing with AEW, the door was left open for a return as the Vince McMahon regime decided not to renew her deal and Triple H wanted her to return to the company.
