AEW World Title Match Set For Dynamite

Mark Briscoe isn’t wasting any time. After earning a shot at the AEW World Championship on Sunday night, Briscoe is set to cash in that opportunity just days later on Dynamite.

Team Briscoe came out victorious in a six-on-six cage match at Forbidden Door, defeating MJF and members of the Don Callis Family. Per a stipulation agreed upon before the bout, the win earned the veteran ROH standout a future shot at MJF’s world title.

Briscoe wasted no time calling his number. Just minutes after the win, in a backstage segment, he announced his intention to use the title shot on this Wednesday’s edition of Dynamite, emanating from the Viejas Arena in San Diego, California.

Briscoe and MJF are no strangers to one another, having clashed several times in the past, including a “Tables N’ Tacks” match at All Out last year. This Wednesday, however, will mark the first time the two meet with a world championship on the line.

For MJF, it will be his second title defense since recapturing the AEW World Championship at Double or Nothing last month.

The showdown gives this week’s Dynamite two title matches. Here is the updated lineup:

– MJF (c) vs. Mark Briscoe for the AEW World Championship
– Hikaru Shida vs. Kris Statlander vs. Maika vs. Queen Aminata vs. Persephone vs. Harley Cameron in a Survival of the Fittest match for the vacant TBS Championship
